Gavin-- he's pretty much my whole life. We have our ups and downs, and I believe he hit his terrible two’s (which technically is the wrong term according to my recent studies) that they hit it sometimes as early as 15 months. Well, he’s always been a little advanced so why not this too? Lord help me! He throws tantrums at the turn of a hat, wants my attention when I’m busy, and is just pure energy all the time! Plus there’s the teeth thing and all that!
I still think no more kids for me. I have come to realize that all these years pre-child that HAVING the baby would be the hardest part of parenting, turns out the PARENTING is the hardest part!
All the while I try to keep my cool with him, yeah, it doesn’t always work! He’s also going through a phase where he’s becoming a picky eater and throws his food on the floor. Pisses me off. He’s lost a pound already and he’s skinny enough as it is. I am so ready for his car seat to get turned around and now he’s losing weight! Urgg!
But on a happy note, he’s learning to use a spoon, he drinks great from a cup when I let him… I hate cleaning up more spills so we usually opt for the sippy. He says a ton of words and runs runs runs. He ran into the street yesterday and we have a HUGE yard down sloping so NEVER turn away from him when he’s outdoors. He spilled my purse contents… it was way back on the table, but he got it somehow. When he did so, my Excedrin fell on the floor and broke open (hello, childproof caps my ass) and so I called the poison control even though I was pretty sure he didn’t eat any.
FYI: he has to eat a ton of Ibuprofen and about six regular strength Excedrin to really get sick. He picked up poop in the yard from one of the strays in town (I really despise dogs)! God the trouble he gets into is endless! So I’ll stop for now. Maybe I’ve had you laughing, but it’s not funny!
Some days, I go to a dark place. It's pretty scary, but I'm working really hard on controlling it. A walk outdoors really helps both of us!| Gavin as a newborn |
