My little helper

This morning as I emptied the dishwasher, which Gavin is fascinated by, he does as usual and climbs up on the door and starts handing me things to put away. Only today he also took a fork out of the dishwasher and walked over to the silverware drawer, opened it, and threw it in the drawer. Piece by piece my clean silverware went from the dishwasher to the correct drawer, all I had to do was organise each piece into the right section. My little helper!

Also in huge accomplishments today, he polished off a stick of string cheese and when asked walked over to the trash can and threw away the paper. After which he did a little dance of accomplishment and clapped for himself. Very cute!

One small problem developed after dinner today with the "little helper" syndrome. He also likes to put dirty dishes away when I'm not looking. Um, you might want to check the silverware over before using it! Yuk!

Lunch - June 2009

The other day after a long morning running at the park, spending money at the dollar store, and stopping at the library, we were ready for a break. Gavin had something on his mind-- lunch. Yes, my little boy ran into the house, into the kitchen, and grabbed the refrigerator handle and said, "lunch?" He was ready to eat. So for now, whenever he is hungry it is time for "lunch."
