Something I Love
One thing I love about this stage (there are many things I don't, but I'll get to that later) is having Gavin walk beside me with his little hand wrapped tightly around just one of my fingers. It will be hard to look back on this moment when he's a teenager, walking ten feet behind me because he doesn't want anyone to know he's with his mother. Maybe one day when he's even older, in his 20's or so, he'll finally decide holding his mother's hand is just what we both need.
As for a dislike of this age; tantrums. Yes we had our first super public tantrum at Country Boy the other day. He saw jello in the isle and he immediately wanted it. Right then and there on the Isle 5 floor with no spoon. I had to drag his butt to the register with all my bags in hand and as we walked out the door, he decides to block the exit and line of people behind us by lying on the filthy floor and throwing a fit. Embarrassed I picked him up again and didn't speak to him the whole way home. He knew I was mad, so as I squatted to put groceries away, he kisses my back again and again in apology.
