I'm Just Like Mommy

This morning when Gavin awoke he had discovered something monumental. After asking him the usual questions, "how did you sleep and do you have to pee" Gavin tells me, proudly with a smile, his profound discovery, "I'm just like mommy!"

I smile at the fact that he's so deliciously cute in this moment, knowing that it's a true statement. Then think, "be afraid, be very afraid" as I hear my dad's voice haunt me from years past, "You just wait until you have kids, you'll get payback!"

Potty Party

Gavin has done so well with potty training. He tells me every time he has to go and he can hold it if he has to. He even can pee outdoors now and he tells me he has to "shake it." If he does have an accident, it's usually because he was too busy playing and it sneaks up on him. But he knows how to stop the flow to tell me he's got to potty. He stays dry most of his naps, but still wakes up with quite a wet diaper in the morning. He can't pull his own pants down yet or wipe yet, but I'm so proud of his accomplishments this far. He's getting to be such a big boy!
