Giving Thanks and ... Kisses?

Today I was a few minutes late to Gavin's rather punctual Thanksgiving program at the Preschool. When I arrived I spotted Gavin looking sullen with his hands in his pockets and near tears. I noticed he thought I wasn't there and he would never see me in the back so I moved up front ducking all the cameras to sit in front where he could see me. As soon as he spotted me, he smiled a joyous grin that brought tears to my overly emotional eyes. He immediately started singing and doing the actions. For those of you that saw my pictures or post from last year you know that the Preschool program was not a success with Gavin goofing around the whole time. After I saw his reaction today I wonder if it wasn't because he couldn't see Shannon and I sitting in that big auditorium.  Either way I was very happy that I made it and he saw me, huge difference in his performance!  At the very end of the program he gave me a sideways wink and a double thumbs up.  I stayed for his Thanksgiving lunch and sat with him and his classmates.  At the end of the lunch I got our stuff ready to go and told him to say goodbye to his friends. His friend Sarah stood up and hugged and kissed him on the cheek and forehead three times. My son got his first kiss from a girl right before my eyes and I stood there like a dummy, just stood there and said, "aww." Not sure what I was supposed to do, but shocked was a pretty good reaction. So later I asked Gavin if Sarah liked him and he said, "No." I asked him if she's ever kissed him before and he said, "no." Well son, you and I have a lot to learn about girls.
