Pessimism or Realism?

Gavin started spring break this Good Friday. Thursday night he had a friend sleepover, had a spaghetti dinner, went out for ice cream and had some left over. The boys decided on Monday, when I stepped outside for a minute, to make the left-over ice cream their breakfast.  We discussed what an awesome start to his spring break he had to include breakfast ice cream and our future plans of swimming, Easter celebrations, playdates and more to come. I told him, "It sounds like you are going to have an amazing spring break full of fun." 

He replies, "Well, I wouldn't go that far. It hasn't happened yet mom."

Ah, every day that kid sounds more and more like his mom.
