Christmas Surprise!

This was the first year in 4 years we have flown back to Kansas for Christmas. Upon awakening in Kansas, Gavin woke me up multiple times after 6 am. When I heard the creaky floorboards once again about 7:30AM, I rolled over to once again contest awakening and in my drug induced (thanks Flexoril) and blind as a bat eyes without glasses, I thought I was seeing things. There before me was Shannon. "What are you doing here?" I was so surprised! I had no idea he was coming to Kansas. He told me that he was flying to Germany for business as I was flying to Kansas. A few minutes later Gavin did come into my room to awaken me and his eyes scrunched up in question before a huge smile spread across his face. He was totally surprised as well. What a Merry Christmas present. And the first time in a long time I've gotten a big surprise.
