No More Glasses!

Gavin and I in Colmar France

Last week I got a referral to take Gavin to an ophthalmologist.  He had grown out of his glasses and I swore he didn't need them anymore. They dilated his eyes which was kind of funny. It made him really tired and he slept for a good hour after the appointment.  During the appointment the nurse said, "His vision is 20/20 and I'm not sure why he would need them anymore, but we will have the Dr. check."  After the Dr examined him he said, "I'm not sure why he needed them the last 3 years, but he is fine. He doesn't have to wear them anymore."  So I let out a jubilant cry! I was right, mother's intuition and all, and I no longer have to nag at him to put the glasses on his face, or clean them! Amen, praise Jesus, Hallelujah! He of course, took a few days to adjust, always exclaiming how he felt like he needed to put them on.  In a few years, as his eyes develop we may find he needs them again as he grows nearsighted, but for now, the lazy eye is corrected and we can go glasses free!
