Double Digit Birthday!

Gavin turned 10 February 17!

All he wanted was to get his military ID. Getting your military ID is like a right of passage. It means he can walk freely around the European post and run errands like picking up eggs or buying himself a Slurpy at the gas station. I remember walking down the hill at his age to F&A for a candy bar or ice cream treat or to the gas station for a pop. The military ID instills a bit of freedom from parental control, but also it's a pain if you are irresponsible and lose it. Let's see how long that takes!

At age 10, Gavin weighs himself and measures himself. He weighs 60lbs and measures in at 53", a quarter inch taller than he was just 2 months ago.

He wants to be a marine biologist when he grows up and can't wait to move back to Kansas this summer to be crazy with Grandma Kay and go fishing with Grandpa Stan.  He loves to test his boundaries, tell lengthy tales, and negotiate. He is handsome and confident and has a clear liking for the ladies. He will still hug me and hold my hand and tell me he loves me.  Gavin is great at math and science, but like his dad, doesn't much enjoy the art of writing as I do.  He is kind, friendly, and is still an avid cat lover.  He is quite brave and will try just about anything at least once. He still plays drums, loves Scouts, and plays baseball.

I look forward to seeing what the next year brings!
