Day 10

Are you serious? It's only Day 10 of this deployment.  Technically deployment hasn't even started and won't start until he lands in the Middle East.  Ughhh! From that point only 180 days to go.

Gavin slept through the night for the second night in a row since Shannon left.  This morning he woke up and whispered, "mommy?"  He wanted to climb in bed and snuggle but since I've been sick for the last five days with no voice and a bad cough, he laid down beside my bed.  He said, "Mommy I slept the whole night through again!" He was so proud to make me happy.  Everyday he asks me if I feel better. I wish I did.  He even asks me, "Can you talk to me yet mommy?"  It's terrible, I can't even read him stories at night. So Shannon has been reading to him over the computer at night. Thank God for computers and Google Talk with video.  He's been such a good boy so far. 

Thank God also for Grandparents coming this weekend.  We need some company!
