Independent Boy, Independent Orderer

We went to lunch today with some girlfriends at the German restaurant.

Waiter: What would you like to drink?
Me: Water is fine.
Gavin: I would like an orange.
Waiter looks at me and says: Orange juice?
Me: Yeah that's fine.

Later he tells the waiter that his orange juice makes him orange.

Waiter: What would you like to order?
Me: I'll have the Waldorf Salad. Do you have a kids menu?
Waiter: Yes, we have hot dogs, chicken strips, and a kids pizza.
Gavin: I will have the kids pizza.
Waiter looks at me again for approval.
Me: Ok, kids pizza it is.

Waiter: Do you like your pizza?
Gavin: I'm eating mommy's!

Later the girls order a coffee.
Gavin to the waiter: I would like a coffee too.
Waiter: I can't bring you a coffee.

Gavin: Why?

Apparently the days of ordering for my son are over.  By the way, this will add up to a huge waste of money because he ate most of my plate and very little of his own, except for the french fries of course.
