Frustrated Mom

I do everything I can for my kid except put him in a bubble, which is tempting.  Preschoolers are like walking petri dishes full of germs.  In the last month or more Gavin has had the 24 hour flu, a cold or allergies (only God knows), hand foot mouth (which involves nasty blisters), pink eye and now a double ear infection.  Now I have a terrible sore throat and Shannon isn't feeling so hot either though he's not here but in Georgia this week on his monthly work TDY.

The boy eats better than 90% of the rest of children on this planet.  He is given RAW vitamin supplements, fish oil, and probiotics daily. (Who does that?) We've invested in Mona Vie, our daily juice.  I put him to bed at a decent hour and try and get him to nap daily.  I try and teach him to wash his hands but the kid is always touching his eyes, nose, and mouth.  He even gets adjusted at the chiropractor and sleeps on a Tempur-pedic mattress. Gavin practically lives the life of a king and here we are with the umpteenth illness this month.

I like to think all the good things I do for him prevent worse illnesses, shorten or lessen the height of the illness, and heals him faster.  I can't wait until the age of constant illness is over. Being the parent of a preschooler is hard enough without coping with never-ending bugs.

Our Word says that Jesus bore all my sickness and diseases, and He carried my sorrows, so I receive healing now. I know and declare that Jesus is my Healer. I give You all the praise for providing everything I need to walk in wholeness.

It's Official

We are no longer daddy, mommy, or momma, we are officially dad and mom.  It started this past weekend when my parents were visiting. I guess he heard me say mom and dad so many times that he figured this was proper protocol. It's so very weird to hear coming from such a little boy's mouth. I hope by the time he's 30 we don't end up being called, "Shannon and Sarah."
