Girls Girls Girls

There's been a lot of talk of girls lately.

Gavin: Mommy, I wish I had a sister as pretty as Noah's sister.

Gavin: I want to marry a girl so I can kiss her all the time.

Gavin: I kissed the girls in my VBS class today. I kissed all of them because they are so pretty.
Me: Gavin, you aren't supposed to kiss until you are grown up. It's going to get you into trouble. Plus, kissing spreads what?
Gavin: Germs. But I was doing air kisses.

Oh boy.

Another fun moment this week was when I tried to come up with a new discipline strategy that will be easier for me to be consistent. I am not the best with consistency which is a must for raising kids. So I talked to Gavin about how we need to be a team explaining how we get along better when we work together. As soon as he had to do something he REALLY didn't want to, he threw it in my face as only my son could do. At the ripe old age of 5, in a loud, angry voice and a slamming bedroom door told me, "I don't want to be a part of the team!"

Wait a minute, have I entered a time warp, fast forwarding 10 years? No? It's still 2013? Well, hell.
