5th grade Poem for Mrs Owens class at Wineteer Elementary in Wichita KS, 2019
If I Had Wings
by Gavin Cummins
Inspired by Pie Corbett
If I had wings
I would touch the soft white clouds that rule the skies
And glide with the planes that roam peacefully through the skies.
If I had wings
I would taste the UNIVERSE
Like a cool refreshing drink.
If I had wings
I would breathe the morning dew
As I bolt across the sky like a bright lightening bolt.
If I had wings
I would gaze at the ant like objects
That roam planet Earth.
If I had wings
I would listen to the clouds of a gusty woooosh
And blow away the skies.
If I had wings
I would dream of flying the biggest of planets
And the smallest of asteroids.
