Eulogy

It may seem cruel to think of my death. But your dad and I have been working on our trust and it's important.  Death is inevitable and we must always be prepared. I  hope it's long from now, but I wrote this one day in hopes someone else doesn't have to.

My Eulogy

Sarah Cummins was born Nov 3, 1980, to Stan and Jacine Alderson. She grew up mostly in KS near her
extended family. She had a great sense of humor and could make just about anyone laugh. She was
known for building community everywhere she went and had an innate ability to keep a connection with
those she loved long after they were separated by moves. When she was 16, she was blessed to meet
the kindest and most talented man she would marry, and he changed her life forever. In 2001, she
married Shannon Cummins and together they joined the Air Force and traveled all over the world. It
was an adventure with many incredible high points and several incredible lows, but she believed all
were opportunities for great lessons.

She received a degree in Business from University of Maryland Sigma cum Laude and later went on to
become a Yoga Therapist owning her own business Waterfall Yoga Therapy, but not before they had a
son, Gavin in 2008 while stationed in Oklahoma City. While Shannon was always her inspiration to
become a better person, Gavin was the one who came to this Earth to teach Sarah many lessons. The
three of them made countless cherished memories over her lifetime.

Sarah knew that her life’s purpose was not only to be the wife of Shannon and mother of Gavin, but to
help others reacquaint themselves their innate power to heal their own body, mind and spirit. Sarah
was blessed to have found her true calling in this life and she always did her best to ensure others knew
how special they were and how much they were loved. Sarah believed growing, learning, and striving to
be/do better were a lifelong work in progress. She was a believer in Christ as much as she was a
believer in the afterlife and reincarnation. From early on she was an avid reader, loved to explore new
things and challenge herself, she enjoyed writing and was very talented at it publishing several things in
her lifetime (even writing this obituary in her early 40’s).

Sarah also enjoyed spending time around animals, friends, and family, enjoyed various art outlets, gardening, enjoyed nature, but loved a good pampering hot bath and a massage. She lived a full life filled with Kairos moments (moments where time stood still). She came to realize that each day was an absolute gift and always tried to be present.

In the last half of her life, she and her family retired on 20 acres of land outside of Huntsville AL in the
Hurricane Valley. She was surrounded by wildlife, trees, hills, and quiet solitude. This was home on this
Earth far different from where she grew up, but definitely where her soul was called to improve and
continue to learn and grow in her aged years. She wanted all of you to know you are loved more than
you know and that she will see you again.
She is survived by…
