1982 Datsun 280ZX

Since building the robot in Robotics this past year, you have showed interest in building a car. After I gave you my Hyundai, I didn't think it would happen. Though you and your dad talked about doing this for years.  But you stopped at a junk yard on your way home from school and found a 1982 Datsun 280Z.  Like your dad, you get stuck on something and don't give up until you get it and convinced your dad, it would be good memories. Which didn't take much convincing.  You said you would split the cost of rebuilding it, with a goal to drive it to prom your Senior year.  I thought, there should be some sort of contract to stick to it, but what do I know.

So one day, a junky old car ends up in our building. And daily, presents arrive at the door for your dad.  Tools to weld, and tools to hold the car up, and tools to who knows what. I'm sure it's a worthy excuse to fill that building with things he will only use once a year after this car is built. I'm hoping this isn't a basketball hoop thing, where you promise to play it, and you do about 5 times before it collects dust and takes up space in the building.

I hope you reach your goal. And I hope you make memories with your dad.  And most importantly, I hope you learn something. Too many men don't have the privilege of learning something from their dad.  You don't know how lucky and blessed you are. I can't wait to see it when it's all done.
