This weekend we traveled to Gadsden AL to attend our very first Quincinera for Natalie Aleira, a friend of Gavin's. It was a fun trip and I learned a lot about this Latin American tradition. It was fun to sit on the sidelines (or dance in my case) and watch him from afar. He even got out and danced a bit with his friends Adam and Megan (even though all of them were sick). I'm glad he got to have this experience. It's quite an important transition for the women of their culture.
