Car seats are life savers

Gavin was in his first car accident on Veterans Day(11/11/09). The whole family was in the car, Shannon was driving the Land Rover. A car stalled in front of us and with heavy traffic we had no where to go. A screech of tires behind us told me that something bad was about to happen. After the hit, I looked behind me only to find a huge red truck, Gavin was ok. In fact, he didn't even let out a yelp until I did and then he started to cry. Thank God we were all ok and thank God for car seats. You don't realize the importance of one until you find yourself in a situation.

I Love You

Tonight at 21 months, as Shannon took Gavin to bed and I said, "good night, I love you." Gavin finally replied, "I love you." Way to a mommy's heart. Now I can't wait until he says it first!

Other favorite things I love to hear him say lately, "excuse me" when he burps. "Please and thank you." He's very polite, especially when he wants something. When something hurts, "kiss it," and after I do he says, "all better." "Right back," he says this when he wants to go check out something. "Dibble Dibble Dopp when it rains (from our book Mr. Brown Can Moo). "Aww man!" and "coool." And lastly, one I'm not so proud of, "damn it." He knows just how to use it and even says it under his breath sometimes, just like I do. The kid is definitely not hard of hearing!
