Second Christmas 2009
This was by far my favorite Christmas that I can remember. We arrived home in Kansas safe and sound despite the talks of inclement weather. Gavin took two hours to open his gifts at my parents house. He would stop to play with each one and say, "open doors" when he got a package he couldn't quite get open himself. And we didn't mind taking our time. Anything to stretch this special moment. The food was good, the entertainment (Gavin and the Wii) was good, the gifts were special, and there wasn't an argument or squabble between us. Gavin started going down the stairs all by himself without holding on to anything. He made up games to play with himself and he ran through the house back and forth like a busy little bee, doing whatever it was he wanted to do. I sat back, watched, and tried to take it all in. My little boy is getting so big and learning so much so fast. He's becoming so independent and he plays well all by himself. His playing is becoming more creative and imaginative. He wants to "build" things and "fix" things. We were blessed and this one was one for the books!
