Gavin is almost 2 years and one month. He's talking in complete sentences most of the time now. He says "I" for himself some of the time and other times he still says, "Gavin." He sometimes calls me "mom" which is just weird when you've heard mommy this whole time. It sounds so grown up. He's even called me, "Ebbs" which he usually shouts because this is what his dad calls me as a pet name. He still mimics everything so if you teach him how to say it or even better if he just overhears you saying it, he will repeat it, sometimes over and over.
He counts one to ten in Spanish, some of the words slurring together he says them so fast and he always shouts, "OCHO" his favorite! He likes to brush his own teeth and wash himself in the shower. He loves to go swimming and asks to go on a daily basis, so I think I need to get him back into swim lessons.
He's started to play by himself a little better, but he still loves my company, which is great when I don't have laundry or cleaning or cooking to do. If I was rich, I'd hire a maid and a chef and tell the nanny to take a hike. Then I could hang with G all day! Of course, a nanny would be nice to have when I want to grocery shopping or get a massage! Hmm, if only...
He LOVES his strider bike, playing in the sand, and hanging with his buddy Jonah. I take him to several classes with other kids and he enjoys their company. When one of them acts out he just looks at them like he's trying to figure out what upset them, or maybe he's taking notes? He does throw things from time to time, usually hard toys in the direction of people.
Other fun facts:
He calls Winnie the Pooh, "Piggie-Pooh"
His constant question is "What's that mommy?" or "What's that sound daddy?"
He listens better to his dad when he's asked to do something. (Still does at age 18- insert eye roll)
We put him to bed at 7:30PM but he lies in his crib and talks to himself until he falls asleep every night at exactly 8:30PM.
He loves music, especially rock music.
When he gets hurt, he sings "Rock a Bye Baby" to himself.
He has an obsession with flashlights.
At mealtimes he always wants, "cheese on it" or "peanut butter on it" no matter what the menu is.
I'm sure there many fun facts I'm forgetting!
