(Be sure to read both blogs before this one).
Ladies and Gentlemen, There IS poop in it. Only this time it's not in my food, it's in the POTTY!
Gavin taught me another lesson today. That from now on through the rest of his life, things will happen on his terms and his schedule, not mine. As I said, I was more than prepared to put off the potty training until after we get settled in Colorado. This afternoon after nap, I asked Gavin if he wanted to wear big boy pants again and he said yes. So we had another accident. But after that, he said, "Mommy I have to pee." So we went to the potty. I gave him some books to read and left the room. A few minutes later he said, "Mommy I peed." So I went in to check and he had peed and pooped. Ahh, success!
So I presented him with praise, a toy airplane for his first success, and a sticker on the sticker chart. We started making calls, first daddy at work who was overjoyed. Gavin said, "Daddy I pooped in the potty!" Then we continued our calls through each of the grandparents, literally one by one, until he was so tired of telling his story that the last grandma simply got a whispered, "I peed in the potty."
He went 2 times after this before bed! Now lets see how long we can keep this up!
