There's Poop In It!

Gavin has been extra whiney lately. It's SOO much fun! Tonight we had left over African stew. For those of you who don't know it's of course super healthy with lots of great vegies and Indian spices. It used to be a favorite of Gavin's. I brought him to the table and placed a bowl of it in front of him only for a him to tell me, "no yucky." Now, if you don't cook for your kids then you have no idea the frustration I feel when one of us is disappointed in my cooking. I try not to take it personally, but when you work so hard to get your family to eat healthy and they won't eat it, well it's challenging to remain composed. Tonight was especially difficult. I stepped away from him to make my own bowl of dinner all the while he's crying and going on and on (my little drama queen) about how he doesn't want it and he wants something else. As I'm looking at the counter he says, "there's poop in it." I had to laugh quietly to myself in the corner of my kitchen. My little boy cleverly told me that my hard labor boiled down to, "no yucky, there is poop in it."
