We just got over our first real stomach flu since we've had Gavin. Gavin got it first. Shannon was gone... again. Poor Gavin was just not being himself. The first time he threw up, we both just stood there. As a mom, you want his pain to go away, so I just looked at him with hurt in my eyes. I didn't even rush to get him a trash can, I really had no idea what to do. I just kept telling him it was going to be ok. After a few clean ups, well I had the bug too. The next day I was literally immobile while he had full rein of the house. But he was a good boy, keeping his distance, and playing by himself. By the end of the day, I couldn't take it anymore, I was so dehydrated. A friend came and picked us up and cared for us at her house. Luckily Gavin acted fine during the day and was only sick at night. She was a blessing! Once Shannon got home, he got it and some respiratory thing. It was not a fun week, and I hope we don't have to do that again anytime soon.
Mona Vie Monster
This morning, I came down the stairs to find Gavin with our three full
shot glasses of Mona Vie lined up, two of them already empty, readying
himself for the third. His face covered in purple, I watched him lick
spilled juice off the countertop. Immediately afterward he asked me,
"Where are the cookies mommy? I want cookies and suckers for
breakfast." I guess he figured if he drank his healthy juice he could
splurge on some junk food.
Naptimes, Where Are You?
Gavin hasn't napped all week. He acts like he's done with it and spends his "nap-time" jumping off his bed onto a pile of his blankets and pillows. It has been super stressful on me. I am so not ready for naptime to be over, especially before Shannon deploys. Today he finally napped, but he hasn't been sleeping well at night with the congestion. Please let naptimes become normal again. I miss my happy boy AND my daytime break!
