I Wanna Be

My mom has been sick with pneumonia and he asks Grandma, "You got a cough grandma, you sick?"

Later that day he tells me, "I'm gonna be a doctor so I can help Grandma feel better."

Since he's been sick he's very aware now what being "sick" is.  So if he doesn't want to eat something (which is frequent these days) he says, "I'm sick."

Finally I thought, this is all mental.  He's playing the sick card to get out of stuff.  So I told him we'd go home and see grandma's and grandpa's if we all get healthy.  I told him a story of Prince Gavin getting healthy by eating healthy and exercising. I told him about Prince Gavin's adventures at Grandma and Grandpa's and now he is set on going home to them.  It worked! We are marking the days off the calendar before we head for KS for Thanksgiving.
