Birthday Party!

We had a great birthday party on Sunday.  The cake turned out amazing considering I have never baked one.  Mom and dad helped me a bit and we got it all decorated.  Gavin could not keep his fingers out of it. My dad told me the family would probably start showing up early. I said, "no it's rude to show up before the time on the invitation." Sure enough, here comes my dad's side of the family more than two hours before the party. They had the times confused!  But all was well. I love my family, so it was great to have them around to visit for a few extra hours!  Gavin loves them just as much, so it was fun.  We had a great turn out. Gavin however fell asleep right before his party was officially to start, so we let him nap while we ate and watched a slide show I made of his past year.  After waking him he asked to eat cake.  He covered his face, shy, as we sang happy birthday to him.  Then blew out his candle and dug into the jellybeans on the last car of his train with a spoon.  He loves jellybeans!  After that he opened gifts and played with his new toys.  We even got to chat with daddy via Googletalk for a short bit. It was fun having the family there to each pop into the camera and say hi!  It was a great, fun day.
