Gavin's 3rd Birthday

Two days before his birthday he wakes up at 6:30AM and tells me, it's 2 minutes until his birthday.  On his birthday he wakes up and asks me, "Mommy, I slept good. Is it my birthday now?"

We spent the day getting supplies for his train cake which I will attempt for his party on Sunday.  And then we went for a picnic in Miltonville park with Aunt Nedra and Grandma Jacine who had the day off to spend with him.  We had a great time and the weather was outstanding for February in Kansas. But as the day went on we had a very cranky boy on our hands.  I guess he was grumpy that he only got to open two presents as he has to wait for the rest on his birthday party!

We took him for a walk to get him out and about. Suddenly his mood changed (but only temporarily).  A little old lady on her scooter drove past and he stopped her to talk.  He told her that he was in a hurry to catch the "darn train" (Thank God that he said darn instead of the other word this time!) that was blowing it's horn far away.  And he told her he was 3 with his fingers and he just kept talking and talking with such animation. (The kid loves anyone that will listen to him!) She was so happy that as she drove away she said, "You guys just made my day!"  I love that even on his grumpiest days he's able to bring a smile to someone's face!  He's a special little guy!
