Tornado Warning While at School

We had some wishy-washy weather the other day while Gavin was at school. The sirens went off while I was at home. I immediately started praying for Gavin who still has a hard time with tornado warnings after our experience with a very close call tornado in Oklahoma that sent us into the tornado shelter, we had installed in the garage. Luckily nothing came of it, and the school is probably safer than our house.

Mrs. Julia, Gavin's teacher, Facebook messaged me after school to tell me about his day. I love this close relationship we have to discuss this stuff! She wrote: "Gavin did get a little upset when we went in the hallway for the tornado warning, but the sweet girl from Big Green Bus sat with him and kept distracting him from the "drama". When we were dismissed from the hall, Gavin gave her a hug and thanked her for being there for him. I was so proud of him! Awesome day!!!"

Gavin did say he cried at school in the hall, but a lady was there to help him, so I was very grateful. He still manages to amaze me every day.
