BFF's

Gavin: I love holding your hand.
(I say this to him all the time. One of my favorite things to do in the world.)
Gavin: I love eating outside with you.
(We ate all our meals outside today.)
Gavin: Can we be best friends forever?
(God please help me to remember this moment when he is a teenager and screaming how much he hates me.)
Gavin: I want to spend all my time with you.
(Again Lord guard my heart when he is locked in his room or out with his friends every waking moment and the last place he wants to be is with me.)

Footnote: Gavin hasn't wanted to spend any time with me since about age 15. He does still occasionally hold my hand.  And he tells me he loves me, sometimes under duress and sometimes after he says something rude and insulting.

Costco and a Great Compliment

Me: (being lazy) Gavin, let's go to Costco and eat the snacks for lunch.
Gavin: No mommy. Your food is WAY better!
This comment deserved an awesome bear hug and a homemade meal. Leftovers it is!

Side note: I would usually never condone eating at Costco's isle samples at any time, let alone as a meal, but in a weak moment, leave it to my 4-year-old to put me in my place. We make a good team!
