Gavin and the Girls

My sweet friend Katie and I always do kid trades for date nights. She has two precious girls and is pregnant with an unidentified gender! It was her turn to watch Gavin last night for our date night to a friend's 90's themed birthday party. So Shannon was grungy 90's and I was TLC 90's.

Katie told us that Hannah Grace, her 4 year old said she was excited to have Gavin over. She said, "Gavin is so cool. He has cool glasses and his voice is so cool."  If she thinks loud is cool, well yeah, his voice is really "cool!"

Gavin enjoyed playing with them and recounted his evening this morning.  "Mom, Katie has the coolest car. The door slide open to the side by themselves and the tv's are in the back for them to watch movie's all the time. And the windshield opens on the ceiling to let the sun come in AND the car starts by itself without the key! I want a minivan. It is so cool. We need to get one!"  Gavin, who is always aware of the hot rods on the road, thinks a minivan is cool. I tell him, "If we had all the kids Katie does we would have a minivan too. They are pretty neat." Gavin says, "Yeah Miss Katie is pregnant! It better be a boy this time because she's already got two girls and girls are sooooo boring!"

Even Shannon is drawn into those little girls spell when he's around them. "Are you sure you don't want one of those?"  Me, "Yes, I'm sure. I'm sure Katie will let us borrow hers anytime and in the meantime she can do their laundry and pay to feed them. It's a good deal."
