Be Your Own Inspiration

Who or what inspires you to stay motivated in your path through life?

The definition of inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially something creative.

When I consider the question of who or what inspires me, there are all kinds of things and people along the way at different points in my life that come to mind.  Family, friends, teachers, acquaintances, even books. The inspiration may have come from a direct statement or an action I perceived, it may have been said in passing, it may have been a quote that stood out among the pages, or a pursuit for something greater.  A driving need for purpose is a sure go-getter for inspiration.

In the last month, I've had five people tell me that were inspired by ME! Me?!

Now I'm not the best at taking compliments, but if I stood back and looked at all I'm accomplishing right now, in my own little world, I should be comfortable with that compliment.  I am working hard towards a goal.  I make myself vulnerable.  I put myself in a space where there will likely be failure, but knowing failure isn't something bad or never to be experienced.  Rather, failure is a way to see growth. Failure is the path to success.  So if I fail, it won't be fun to experience, but there will be so much to learn from the experience.

Take pride in the fact that people are inspired by you and what you do.  Be grateful that you are making a difference in people's lives. YOU can be your own inspiration! Why wait for someone else to inspire you?
