Two Years Ago

Two years ago today I pushed and pushed with all my strength to deliver a little bright blue eyed boy. When he was laid in my arms it was surreal. Everything going on around me, the people scurrying around the room, the noises, the work being done on me, were all paused. The little boy and I looked at each other and the world was changed. I wanted to be a better person for him, for me, and for those in the world around me. And I will be and I am. Happy birthday beautiful boy. Thanks for being in the present with me and for teaching me how to live in the moment.

An Escape Artist

Woke up this morning and what did daddy find? A little boy wandering tiredly around his room! Hmm, at what point did he climb out of his crib? Last night he woke up a couple of times and fussed. Did he sleep on the floor? This could be a problem!

And the worst of it is I was just telling my friend Brittany yesterday while our kids played about my friend Jamie's son climbing out of his crib. I have to wonder if I gave him the idea because he was listening in on our conversation.

Oh boy!
