Daydreaming

As a mom I'm always daydreaming what my son will be like when he's older. Trying to catch a glimpse of his future and what kind of person he'll be based on how he acts now. He loves being the center of attention, he is creative, and funny. The perfect combination for a class clown. Yesterday at his last gymnastics class, I watched him run circles around the room, running as fast as he could and then dropping down on the soft floor straight on his un-diapered bottom. While he was supposed to be kicking a ball around some cones, he instead picks up the cones and yells into them like a mega phone. This leaves all the adults laughing. When he's supposed to be doing a bear crawl across two beams he stands up on the beam with the support of the coach and holds his arms in the air saying, "whoooa--whooaa" like he's losing his balance and is going to fall. Again getting big laughs from all the adults. In the other kids in his class I picture a cheer leader, a jock, a loner, and a valedictorian. I wonder what my parents pictured me to be when I was their age? Did it turn out they were right?

 Mommy=Digger

There is nothing like a little boy who is creative enough to imagine his mommy as his very own digger. Lying on my back on the floor with my knees bent and feet on the floor. He walks over, sits on my stomach facing my thighs and puts his hand down near my belly button to "start the digger." Making noises he pulls on my knees to lift my legs into the air saying, "scoop mommy." He pushes my knees down to "scoop." He then pulls my knees to the side of my body to "dump the load." All the while making beep noises and grinding, moving engine noises. This goes on for more than 20 min. Who knew mommy could be a digger? What creative ideas will he come up with next?
