Plug Fairy

Last night the plug fairy came. Gavin was told to leave his pacifiers in a box and the fairy would come in the night to take them to babies that need them and in place leave a toy. Gavin cried that he WASN'T a big boy and that he NEEDED the plugs. He put the first plug in his mouth, sucked on it for a second, put it in the box, then the same with the next, as if to say goodbye. Needless to say, the night was a long and torturous nightmare. It took hours to go to sleep and hours of crying. Then when he woke in the night to find plug wasn't there and he cried a few hours more.

Day 2 No Plug

Gavin woke this morning asking what the plug fairy left him. On the stairs laid a brand new car carrier semi. The semi went with him everywhere today, including the potty. He went to sleep for nap with no problem. He went to sleep no problem at bedtime. He did ask for it, but was ok with a simple explanation that plugs were no longer. Lets hope the rest of tonight goes as smoothly.

Cross your fingers!

 Day 3 No Plug

Ahh, last night was a full night of sleep for all. No crying, no tantrums, just pure, healthy sleep!

Day 3 No plug...

Gavin went down for nap just fine. He may have mentioned the word but I ignored it and he didn't ask further. After a hard afternoon of play with 6 other kids at our house for an ice cream party with friends, he went to bed with no argument either.

I think it's possible Gavin came to terms with the "no plug" rule rather quickly. Yeah for us!!

Next mission, toddler bed and no more diapers at night! Only 8 diapers left, it's the final countdown! Our boy is growing up.
