Childhood Illnesses Are No Fun

After 15 days of bacterial infection and a cruise, we came home to play with friends who unknowingly shared the hand, foot, and mouth virus. It's a gross virus that is very contagious and includes blisters on those body parts. It's nasty. Frankly I'm very tired of childhood illnesses and the frequency of them it seems here in CO.  On the other hand, it's a beautiful day, he's acting healthy despite the virus, and I get to spend my time at home with him.

Today we found out a playgroup mom died unexpectedly.  She left behind a husband and 3 small children. She was young and had a lot of life before her.  The moments on this earth are fleeting. We are blessed to wake each morning and take a breath. While I go about my day doing what moms do, I am frequently reminded that today that it is great to just be present, even when disinfecting toilets and door knobs. Life is good!
