Gavin and I always go out on Earth day and pick up trash in our neighborhood. It's our Earth day tradition. But how do we celebrate Earth day everyday in the Cummins household?
*We planted a garden in our back yard.
*We have a rain barrel to catch water to water our garden.
*We have a compost bin to put all of our vegetable clippings and fruit peels and shredded paper from junk mail to feed our garden.
*I also save clippings of veggies for homemade broths which I will post the recipe in the next blog.
*We have a labeled trash can bin for plastics, paper, cans, and glass. We drive it to the nearest recycling areas as it accumulates.
